Forester
The electronic duo, comprised by David Parris and Xander Carlson, represent the intersection between nature and city, creating soundscapes both inspired by views from a mountain, and the captivating pulse of a city night.
Based in Los Angeles, the longtime friends launched the Forester project in 2019, working nine-to-five gigs and making music together at night. They experienced immediate success with their debut single “Spark,” which caught the ear of an A&R at Kygo’s Palm Tree Records, where Forester signed in 2020.
The Forester catalog now encompasses four albums: 2019’s Kerosene, 2020’s A Range Of Light, 2022’s Watercolor and 2024’s Moonlight. Together, these LPs have collected an incredible 125 million streams globally, in addition to a growing fanbase made up of both longstanding dance fans and scene newcomers.
Since the inception of Forester, the duo has played to thousands of fans across the US and internationally. From opening for Norweigen powerhouse Kygo at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and stadium shows in Oslo and Mexico City, to packing festival stages at Ultra, Electric Forest, Outside Lands, Life is Beautiful, Heatwave, Palm Tree Festival and countless others, the duo has garnered a cult fanbase of show goers.
Most recently, Forester is on track to sell out their second live headline tour, boasting 16 dates across US and Canada including Irving Plaza in NYC and Fonda Theatre in LA. This tour came on the heels of their fourth album, 2024’s Moonlight, consisting of features from the likes of Jai Wolf, Syn Cole, Jerro and others.
While the live set consists of Carlson playing synths and handling vocals with Parris on guitar, their DJ set sees the duo behind the decks, with Carlson grabbing the microphone on occasion to sing Forester’s biggest anthems. From melodic mashups and vocal moments, Forester’s DJ set serves as an hypnotic emotional release.
A pillar of the project is the preservation of the nature that’s inspired them, with the guys donating a portion of the revenue from their first album to The Nature Conservancy, who used it to plant roughly 1,000 trees. The trick is that through the depth and power of their music, they’re able to express this message without having to say anything at all.
